Position Overview

Adecco Healthcare & Life Sciences is hiring for a specialized Laboratory Technician opportunity with a leading packaging technology organization focused on developing and evaluating innovative packaging solutions.

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and curious laboratory professional who enjoys hands-on testing, investigating problems, analyzing materials, and working closely with technical and production teams.

The Laboratory Technician will support material testing, product evaluations, quality investigations, and documentation activities related to advanced packaging applications. The ideal candidate will be someone who enjoys learning, takes ownership of projects, and can independently drive testing activities from start to finish.

This is a long-term opportunity with potential for permanent conversion and career growth for a motivated technical professional.

Key Responsibilities

Laboratory Testing & Analysis

• Perform hands-on laboratory testing of packaging materials, films, and finished products.

• Conduct physical and performance testing including:

  • Peel strength testing

  • Burst testing

  • Oxygen barrier transmission testing

  • Shelf-life evaluations

  • Material consistency testing

  • Microscopic film structure analysis

• Evaluate raw materials and finished products against established specifications.

• Analyze test results, identify trends, and communicate findings.

• Support troubleshooting efforts related to material performance and quality concerns.

Documentation & Quality Support

• Maintain detailed laboratory records, test procedures, and technical documentation.

• Accurately document testing methods, observations, and results.

• Assist with investigations and root cause analysis related to product performance.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives and laboratory process improvements.

• Maintain laboratory equipment, supplies, and organized workspaces.

Collaboration & Customer Support

• Work closely with production, quality, and sales teams to support technical initiatives.

• Communicate testing results and technical findings clearly through written reports and verbal discussions.

• Occasionally support customer-facing technical discussions or visits.

• Travel approximately once per quarter to support customer engagements (expenses reimbursed).

Required Qualifications

• 1+ years of laboratory, quality control, materials testing, manufacturing, or related technical experience.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document technical work.

• Ability to interpret specifications, procedures, and test results.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and take ownership of projects.

• Comfortable working in a laboratory/manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with packaging materials, plastics, films, polymers, or manufacturing environments.

• Experience with laboratory testing equipment and analytical methods.

• Background in chemistry, materials science, engineering technology, quality, or related technical disciplines.

• Experience with ISO quality systems or formal documentation practices.

Pay Details: $50.00 to $60.00 per hour
