Surg Tech CVOR - Travel Job

Join our team as a Certified CVOR Surgical Technologist in Plantation, FL at a hospital facility. You will function as a member of the cardiac surgical team, assisting surgeons and nurses in the operating room during cardiac procedures. You will prepare the operating room, maintain sterile technique, manage instrumentation for open heart and related procedures, and support patient safety throughout the perioperative process.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Certification from a program accredited by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or equivalent accredited surgical technologist credential.
• Current BLS certification.
• Minimum 2 years of current experience in an acute CVOR setting with demonstrated ability to scrub assist in open heart cases.
• Experience with open heart instrumentation and cardiac surgical procedures such as CABG, MVR, AVR, pacemaker implantation, and lead extractions.
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotation including every other day and every other weekend as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with minimally invasive cardiac procedures.
• Previous experience providing relief coverage across other surgical service lines including vascular, robotics, general, ortho, neuro/spine, urology, podiatry, thoracic, and plastic surgery.
• Ability to function independently in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Assignment Details

• Shift Hours: 06:45 - 15:15.
• Call requirements: on-call required; approximately every other day and every other weekend.
• Patient ratio typical to unit: 2:1 for open heart surgical suites.
• May be required to provide lunch relief across multiple surgical service lines.
