Role Description The Heating Air Conditioning Service Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Newport News, VA. This role is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and troubleshooting heating and air conditioning systems in residential and commercial properties. Daily tasks include performing maintenance and repair services, completing preventive maintenance checks, and ensuring systems meet safety and efficiency standards. The technician will interact directly with customers, explain findings and recommended solutions, and maintain accurate service documentation. The role also involves adhering to company procedures, following industry regulations, and supporting the team with occasional electrical-related HVAC tasks. Qualifications Strong Troubleshooting skills with ability to diagnose HVAC system issues and recommend effective solutions. Hands-on experience in Maintenance & Repair of heating and air conditioning equipment, including routine service work. Knowledge of Preventive Maintenance practices to ensure system reliability, efficiency, and safety. Commitment to Customer Satisfaction, with professional communication and a service-oriented mindset. EPA certification (or ability to obtain) for handling refrigerants in compliance with regulations. Previous experience as an HVAC service technician or related mechanical trade role. Understanding of basic electrical principles as they relate to HVAC equipment. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record for travel to customer sites. Ability to work on-site, lift and carry equipment, and perform tasks in varying environmental conditions.
