Fabricator Welder

Summary/Objective:

Experienced Welder / Fabricator will be responsible for reading blueprints, measuring, cutting, assembling, and welding metal components for various projects. The ideal candidate will have strong welding skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to meet quality and production goals.

ABOUT THE JOB:
Location: Houston (Pasadena/Pearland/Friendswood ; I45 & Beltway)
Work Environment: Monday - Friday
Work Schedule/Hours: 40+hours

Pay Range: The specific pay offered will be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set.

Welder & Fabricator Description Detail:
Experience with fabrication and welding experience; interprets blueprints, specifications, diagrams, or schematics to determine appropriate welding process . Joins, fabricates, and repairs metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques and operating various welding devices. Must be familiar with and comply with all safety requirements and protocols for working in a shop environment. Subjected to internal weld inspections for structural soundness and system functions.

• Work with a production schedule to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
• Welding using the Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW), Gas Meta Arc Welding (GMAW), Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) processes, on carbon, stainless steel
• Capable of fitting pipe or other structural pieces according to drawings
• Welding in all conditions and positions.
• Must have knowledge of fabricating pipe spools (experience with pressure vessels a plus)
• Operates Heli arc welding equipment
• Excellent communication and shop organization
• Fabricates new designs from prints, understands appropriate designs and technical adherence
• Visually checks completed work for adherence to specifications.
• Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts using cutting torch, straightening press and hand tools.
• Must have knowledge of the use of both acetylene and electrical welding equipment, welding standards and trade procedures, processes, and techniques. Experience with welding and forming objects and of various welding fluxes and rods.
• Requires 2-5 years of related experience
• Inspect and maintain gas equipment, including changing gauges, repairing hoses
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills with employees, customers and executives
• Welding certification may be request with less experiance

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to work in small spaces during assembly, on ladders, in adverse cold and hot weather conditions within shop environment.
• There may be regular exposure factors such as dust, fumes or odors, temperature extremes, loud noise, found in shop environments.
• Must be able to lift up to 50- 60 pounds
• Operate a Forklift

Education and Experience

• A high school diploma or GED equivalent
• 2 - 10 years’ experience
• 5yrs Experience in shop production and fabrication
