DSO Specialist II

Job Overview The North Carolina Department of Revenue is recruiting for a DSO Specialist II in our Financial Services Division. The primary responsibility is to administer the setoff of Individual Income Tax Refunds according to Chapter 105A Setoff Debt Collection Act and to serve as the lead liaison between the IRS and NC Department of Revenue regarding tax refund offsets under the Federal Offset Program. Responsibilities Administer the setoff of Individual Income Tax Refunds according to Chapter 105A Setoff Debt Collection Act. Serve as lead liaison between IRS and DOR regarding tax refund offsets under the Federal Offset Program. Qualifications Exceptional telephone skills. Word and Excel experience required. Thorough understanding of Data Capture, Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT), Online Filing and Payments system (OFP), DocQuery, MeF Individual Income Viewer, Suspense and ITAS. Thorough knowledge of the Setoff Debt Collection Act, Chapter 105A-1 through Chapter 105A-16, and G.S. 105-259 Secrecy Acts. High school diploma or GED and four years of related administrative experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Compensation & Benefits Recruitment Range: $41,206 to $56,660 effective July 1, 2025. Best funded pension plan/retirement system. Twelve paid holidays per year. Fourteen vacation days per year, increasing with length of service. Twelve sick days per year, cumulative indefinitely. Paid Parental Leave, Personal Observance Leave and Community Service Leave.
