Lifespan Local, Inc. is seeking a Youth Program Coordinator for a full-time position in the Denver Metro area. This nonprofit organization is looking for an individual to support the development and management of programs and services aimed at promoting youth mental health, leadership, and safety.

Position Summary:

Lifespan Local is a fast moving, innovative, and community-driven organization. The Youth Program Coordinator will support the development and management of programs and services aimed at promoting youth mental health, leadership, and safety. This position is seeking a driven, service-based individual who can facilitate and support enrichment programs during the school year and summertime for SW Denver youth at Lifespan Local's community center, Blossom House. The right candidate for this position will cultivate a positive, nurturing environment that is conducive to optimal youth well-being and development.

Essential Functions:

• Work collaboratively with Youth Program Director regarding program design, structure and facilitation of youth classes.
• Plan, design and implement youth programs with a strengths-based and person-centered approach.
• Recruit local youth to participate in programs that foster growth, learning and discovery.
• Establish and foster positive relationships with schools, residents, parents, and youth serving partners.
• Track program data, including daily attendance and assist in creating reports.
• Purchase and maintain an accurate record of supplies and assist in keeping Lifespan Local's youth space organized and stocked.
• Support the work of DPS Teen Tech Interns for fall, spring, and summer blocks.
• Facilitate various programs/curricula that enhance youth leadership and socioemotional learning.
• Lead social media content creation to support engagement and outreach.

Education and Skill Requirements:

• Strengths-based approach to working with diverse youth.
• Ability to learn new skills and implement ideas and innovation to programming.
• Ability to communicate, collaborate and work easily with a wide variety of people.
• Capacity to work independently and ability to manage multiple projects.
• Experience in youth program design and implementation through trauma informed lense.
• Experience in working with youth of all ages – in both formal and informal settings, with a strong understanding of youth development.
• Bachelor's degree in related field or 4-5 years of experience working with community centered programs and services focused on youth.
• 2-3 years of experience working with youth from low-income and/or racially or culturally diverse communities.
• 1-2 years of social media content creation and management experience.
• Bilingual Spanish/English highly preferred.

Expected work hours:

This is a 32-hour per week, fully benefited position onsite at Blossom House. Typical schedule is M-Th 10:30-7:00 pm, with occasional Saturdays. Summer program hours may vary.

Typical Physical Demands:

Required sitting, standing, bending, and reaching. May require lifting up to 25 pounds. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, the telephone and other office equipment.

Benefits

Compensation/Benefits: Position pays $30.00-$31.00/hour, depending on experience. Generous benefits package includes: 4 weeks vacation time and 2 weeks of sick time annually, 90% of medical and dental care premiums covered by Lifespan Local, 401K plan with 4% non-contributing match.
