Grants Accounting Manager

Job Overview A national nonprofit organization is seeking a Grants Accounting Manager to oversee the financial administration, reporting, and compliance of grant funding across the organization. This role partners closely with program leadership and finance to ensure grant funds are managed responsibly, reported accurately, and aligned with regulatory and donor requirements. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Experience with Private grants – 15 restricted grants 5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience 3+ years of Grants management Nonprofit accounting experience preferred Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting practices Strong Excel and financial reporting skills Job Description Oversee all accounting activities related to grants and restricted funds Prepare internal and external financial reports for grantors, leadership, and program teams Monitor grant revenues and expenditures to ensure compliance with donor guidelines and approved budgets Reconcile grant-related accounts and ensure proper allocation of program expenses, including payroll and benefits Ensure compliance with grant agreements and maintain documentation supporting grant activity Serve as the primary liaison for auditors regarding grant-related transactions and restricted funds Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard grant assets and ensure proper financial stewardship Partner with program managers to develop grant budgets for proposals and renewals Track budget-to-actual performance and provide variance analysis and financial insights Prepare and review grant-related journal entries and financial adjustments Supervise the Grants Accountant and support training, development, and performance oversight Collaborate with leadership to support financial forecasting, strategic planning, and resource allocation #J-18808-Ljbffr
