Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to lead client engagements, manage compliance, and provide proactive strategy for a diverse local client portfolio. You will act as a primary trusted advisor, helping clients navigate complex tax landscapes while mentoring our talented staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and review complex federal and state tax returns, including C-Corps, S-Corps, partnerships, trusts, and estates.
- Deliver tax planning and advisory services tailored to high-net-worth individuals (HNWI) and closely held corporations.
- Oversee trust and fiduciary tax filings, ensuring compliance with estate and gift planning strategies.
- Lead tax research efforts to evaluate the impact of new tax laws on client portfolios.
- Build strong, direct relationships with local business owners and multi-generational family accounts.
- Coach, review, and mentor junior tax associates to foster internal career development.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of recent public accounting experience with a strong mix of corporate, trust, and HNW individual taxation.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; Master’s in Taxation (MST) is a plus.
- Credentials: Active CPA license strongly preferred.
- Skills: Proficient in public accounting tax software (e.g., CCH Axcess, UltraTax, or ProSystem fx). Exceptional client communication and team leadership skills.
What We Offer
- Salary: $115,000 – $125,000+ (commensurate with experience)
