Job Summary

A healthcare services organization in Shreveport, LA is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for a full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity. The Certified Medical Assistant will work closely with providers, patients, and clinic team members to help maintain efficient patient flow, accurate documentation, and a positive care experience. Key Responsibilities

- Room patients, obtain vital signs, document medical histories, and gather chief complaints.
- Assist providers with exams, treatments, minor procedures, injections, EKGs, specimen collection, and phlebotomy as assigned.
- Prepare exam rooms, sterilize instruments, stock supplies, and maintain infection control standards.
- Update electronic medical records, verify patient information, and maintain accurate clinical documentation.
- Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, answer calls, and support patient follow-up communications.
- Process referrals, prior authorizations, prescription requests, check-in, check-out, and payment processing as needed.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay: $15.00 to $16.00 per hour.
- Job Type: Temp-to-Hire.
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday.
- Location: Shreveport, LA.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Support providers with patient care, exams, procedures, documentation, and clinical workflow.
- Manage patient intake, vital signs, medical histories, and electronic medical record updates.
- Assist with scheduling, referrals, authorizations, patient communication, and front-office support.
- Maintain clean, organized exam rooms and follow infection control and patient safety standards.

- Certified Medical Assistant credential required.
- 1 to 2 years of Medical Assistant experience preferred.
- Experience with vital signs, patient rooming, injections, EKGs, specimen collection, or phlebotomy is helpful.
- Ability to accurately document patient information in electronic medical records.
- Strong communication, organization, multitasking, and customer service skills.
- Dependable, professional, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced patient care environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- Previous experience in a clinic, physician office, or outpatient healthcare setting.
- Familiarity with referrals, prior authorizations, prescription requests, check-in, check-out, and payment processing.
- Phlebotomy and EKG experience.
