Position Summary
The Director of Cardiac Rehab is responsible for the strategic leadership, operational management, and clinical oversight of the cardiac rehab program. This role ensures high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, financial performance, and staff development while supporting organizational growth and physician satisfaction.
Leadership & Strategy
- Provide vision and leadership for cardiac rehab services aligned with organizational goals
- Collaborate with executive leadership and physicians to drive program growth and service line expansion
- Develop and implement departmental goals, KPIs, and performance improvement initiatives
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
Operations Management
- Manage daily operations, staffing, and scheduling of cardiac rehab services
- Optimize patient flow, capacity, and throughput
- Ensure proper documentation, coding, and billing practices
- Oversee equipment maintenance and facility readiness
Clinical Quality & Compliance
- Ensure delivery of evidence-based cardiac rehab services
- Oversee individualized patient care plans including exercise prescription, risk factor modification, and education
- Monitor patient progress and outcomes, adjusting protocols as needed
- Ensure appropriate medical supervision and emergency preparedness
Financial Performance
- Develop and manage departmental budgets
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and operational efficiencies
- Evaluate ROI for new equipment, technology, and service offerings
Team Leadership & Development
- Recruit, hire, and retain high-performing cardiac rehab staff
- Provide coaching, performance management, and professional development opportunities
- Promote staff engagement, accountability, and a positive work environment
- Ensure appropriate staffing models to support volumes and growth
Physician & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong relationships with physicians and clinical leaders
- Address physician concerns and improve satisfaction with cardiac rehab services
- Collaborate on protocol development, workflow optimization, and service enhancements
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Referral conversion rate
- Program enrollment and completion rate
- Patient satisfaction scores
- Program growth and revenue performance
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration or related field (required)
- Registered Nurse accepted
- Master’s degree (MHA, MBA, or related) preferred
Experience
- 5–10 years of progressive leadership experience in imaging services
- Experience in cardiac rehab required
- Demonstrated success in operations, financial management, and team leadership

- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
