Position Description:

Essential duties and responsibilities:

• Within a PMHNP scope of practice, provides clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental disorders. This includes:
• Obtaining a relevant medical and psychiatric history.
• Formulating an appropriate differential diagnosis based on the history and clinical findings.
• Developing an appropriate plan of care and a follow up plan of care.
• Provide psychopharmacologic interventions to treat symptoms of a full range of psychiatric illnesses based on current best practices and accepted standards of clinical management.
• Serves as a resource and provides consultation to clinicians the SHC and CAPS.
• Follow current best practices in psychopharmacologic management and develop an individualized treatment approach based on symptoms, preferences, culture, lifestyle, co-morbidities, risks, and benefits of the plan for the student.
• Maintains appropriate documentation for all services in our electronic medical records system.
• Build and maintain collaborative working relationships.
• Stays current with advances in psychiatry through appropriate continuing education as required for licensure.
• Participate in SHC Quality Assurance activities, provider meetings, case conferences and peer review.
• Maintains currency of licensure, certification, and continuing education.
• To be able to perform the above job description and functions and other duties as assigned by the Medical Director under minimal supervision.

Work Hours:

• Clinic Hours:
• Academic Year: Monday – Wednesday 9am – 5pm and Thursday – Friday, 8:30am – 5pm
• Summer: Monday through Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm, closed in July
• Work days/hours for PT position negotiated at hire.

Education, Experience & Certification Requirements:

• Master or DNP degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program and licensed as an ARNP with prescriptive authority in Washington state and DEA licensure.
• Minimum 2 years' experience providing professional clinical services, preferably in an outpatient setting and/or in a university health center.
• Experience working with primary care providers.
• This position requires a background check of criminal history.

Preferred:

• Experience with primary care psychiatry or consultation psychiatry.
• A demonstrated interest in providing direct service to a diverse college population.

Physical requirements:

• Occasionally lift, push, pull and/or move up to 20 pounds.
• Repetitive motion of upper body required for extended use of computers.
• Required specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Compensation at a Glance:

$90 - $95/hourly

The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, and not based on a candidate's gender or any other protected status.

Positions designated as hybrid eligible may offer the opportunity for a hybrid work schedule after successful completion of an introductory period of 3–6 months. In these cases, the role typically begins fully on campus to support onboarding and training, with the potential to transition to a hybrid arrangement thereafter.

Positions designated as on-site are not eligible for hybrid work and are expected to remain fully on campus.
