The ideal candidate will bring strong writing and analytical skills, sound judgment, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellent client service. Qualifications J.D. degree from an accredited law school Admission to the Washington bar and in good standing Recent judicial clerkship experience strongly preferred, especially with a state or federal appellate court One to three years of civil litigation experience Exceptional legal research, writing, and analytical skills (multiple writing samples required) Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Excellent organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to manage competing deadlines Eagerness to take initiative, embrace increasing responsibility, and grow professionally. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, lawyers, and staff Key Responsibilities Draft briefs, motions, and other written advocacy in trial and appellate matters Research and analyze complex legal issues with care, precision, and sound judgment Work closely with senior attorneys on case strategy, issue development, and written advocacy Support trials as embedded appellate counsel, including drafting trial reports and assisting trial and client teams with appellate-focused issues Develop oral-advocacy skills through increasing responsibility in trial and appellate matters Join a collaborative and respected team where your work will shape complex litigation and appeals from the start.
