Position Description Ryder is hiring a full‑time Warehouse Team Lead in Plainfield, Illinois. Warehouse Positions Pay Weekly: Hourly Pay: $22.50 per hour Additional Pay: Shift Premium: $2.50 per hour Slip Sheet Certified: $0.50 per hour Schedule: Wed. (6pm – 3am) & Thurs – Sat. (6pm – 5am) Benefits Warehouse positions pay each week On‑the‑job paid training Medical, dental, vision, 401(k) etc. start at 30 days Paid time off 401(k) company match 15% employee discount on high‑valued stock Employee discounts on tools, cars, hotels, electronics/appliances, cell phones, travel, and more Safety gear provided Safety is always the first priority State‑of‑the‑art equipment and caring leadership Requirements High school diploma or equivalent preferred At least 1 year of powered industrial truck experience preferred At least 1 year of prior team‑lead experience preferred At least 1 year of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) preferred At least 1 year of prior warehouse experience preferred Knowledge of or experience with an RF scanner – advanced required Valid forklift operator’s license, certified Strong verbal and written communication skills Effective leadership skills Flexibility to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment Ability to work independently and as a member of a team Excellent organizational skills Proactive approach to responsibilities Maintains composure under pressure Working using health and safety methods Bilingual (for Quebec locations only) Responsibilities Lead and ensure continuous improvement efforts for optimal efficiency of operations. Perform warehouse functions, which may include loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting. Allocate resources and organize daily work duties for team members to ensure optimal shift/team operational logistics. Inspire and guide team members toward improved key performance indicators (KPIs) using appropriate leadership styles and methods. Assist in providing orientation for employees and give them the necessary information, technology, and tools to perform their jobs. Promote health and safety working methods within the warehouse. Handle day‑to‑day paperwork in a warehouse environment (e.g., picking sheets, returns, bills of lading). Complete and submit daily reports and propose action plans to enhance operations effectiveness and service levels. Perform other duties as assigned.
