We are looking for a detail-oriented Loan Processor - Support specialist to join a credit union team in Virginia. This long-term contract opportunity is ideal for someone with experience in mortgage lending operations who can help move loan files forward accurately and efficiently. The person in this role will support loan administration activities, coordinate processing tasks, and help ensure closing requirements are completed on time.

Responsibilities:
• Review incoming loan files for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to internal lending guidelines.
• Coordinate mortgage processing activities by gathering required documentation and tracking outstanding items through each stage of the file.
• Support loan administration tasks, including maintaining organized records and updating file status information in a timely manner.
• Assist with mortgage closing preparation by confirming required conditions have been satisfied prior to finalization.
• Work closely with lending staff, members, and third-party partners to resolve documentation issues and keep applications progressing.
• Help facilitate loan origination support activities from initial file setup through closing readiness.
• Monitor timelines and follow up on pending items to reduce delays and promote a smooth lending process.• At least 2 years of experience in loan processing, loan administration, or a related mortgage support function.
• Working knowledge of mortgage processing, mortgage lending, and closing procedures.
• Experience supporting loan origination workflows and handling loan documentation with a high level of accuracy.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple files and deadlines at once.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with internal teams and external contacts.
• Proficiency in reviewing detailed information and identifying missing or inconsistent documentation.
