Quality Control Chemist

Description

• Perform qualitative and quantitative testing of samples as requested using analytical instrumentation such as HPLC, GC, UV/Vis, KF, FTIR, and various wet chemistry techniques.
• Ensure that the analytical data generated is accurate, precise, and in compliance with cGMP, FDA, and company requirements.
• Document testing, observations, deviations, and Out of Specification (OOS) results clearly and completely. Perform peer review of data as needed.
• Coordinate and prepare samples for shipment to external testing laboratories as needed.
• Demonstrate the ability to understand and follow GMPs, SOPs, and analytical procedures (compendial and in-house).
• Work collaboratively in a team environment to develop and maintain a positive culture within the organization.
• Maintain good housekeeping practices in the laboratory and other workspaces.
• Observe and comply with company Health and Safety policies.
• Contribute to a continuous improvement environment and work with management to implement agreed-upon changes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Knowledge and hands on experience with some of the following: chromatography, spectroscopy, wet chemistry and dissolution testing.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to learn and adapt to demands in a fast paced work environment
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a hands-on collaborative fashion with many different disciplines both inside and outside of the company
• Ability to demonstrate good laboratory technique and a high degree of accuracy in the execution of different analytical techniques.

Education and Experience:

• B.S. degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, or other related discipline or equivalent, directly related job experience is required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a QC laboratory under a GMP environment is desired.
• Experience with chromatographic data acquisition software is a plus.

Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Mason, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $43.00/hr.
