Plant Manager

Job Position: Plant Manager Location: Cary, IL 60013 Pay Rate: $125k-135k/y Description:
- Meet or exceed production schedules and on-time delivery objectives.
- Maintain a safe workplace with compliance to OSHA and company safety policies.
- Improve productivity, efficiency, and labor utilization.
- Reduce scrap, rework, downtime, and manufacturing waste.
- Maintain product quality and customer satisfaction.
- Develop and lead a high-performing production team.
- Support continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
- Achieve operational KPIs related to safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Plan, organize, and direct daily manufacturing operations.
- Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining quality standards.
- Monitor production output and resolve operational issues.
- Supervise production supervisors and plant personnel.
- Coach, mentor, and evaluate employee performance.
- Promote accountability, teamwork, and employee engagement.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
- Conduct safety observations and support accident investigations.
- Maintain a clean and organized manufacturing environment.
- Partner with Quality to resolve production issues.
- Ensure products meet customer and company specifications.
- Support corrective and preventive action activities.
- Lead Lean Manufacturing and process improvement initiatives.
- Reduce waste and improve manufacturing efficiency.
- Implement standard work and best practices.
- Coordinate with Planning, Purchasing, and Shipping to ensure material availability.
- Monitor inventory accuracy and production flow.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance with Maintenance.
- Ensure equipment is properly utilized and operational.
- Monitor production KPIs and communicate results.
- Provide operational updates to the Director of Operations.
- Participate in cross-functional planning meetings.
- Demonstrate understanding of and compliance with all company safety policies.
- Promote a culture of safety and accountability.
- Work safely around machinery and manufacturing equipment.
- Bachelor's degree in Operations, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.
- Equivalent manufacturing leadership experience may be considered.
- 7+ years of manufacturing leadership experience.
- 3+ years managing production teams in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in custom or engineered-to-order manufacturing preferred.
- Lean Manufacturing and ERP/MRP experience preferred.
- Ability to work in office and manufacturing environments.
- Ability to stand and walk on the production floor for extended periods.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.
- Frequent exposure to manufacturing equipment, moderate noise, and varying temperatures.
- Frequent interaction with production employees and machinery.
- Occasional overtime or weekend work to support business needs.
