Staff Software Engineer, Identity Platform

Salary: $230,000 - 270,000 per year Requirements:

• Were looking for a Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• We need at least 8 years of backend engineering experience, including 3+ years focused on authentication, authorization, or identity management, with a history of building highly scalable, performant, and dependable systems.
• We value deep knowledge of modern authentication standards and protocols, including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), SAML, JWT, and MFA or passwordless workflows.
• Were seeking experience designing and delivering complex distributed systems, including microservices, containerization, and orchestration.
• We expect strong cloud engineering skills, with hands-on experience on one or more platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure, including infrastructure as code and serverless patterns.
• We look for experience working with microservices, relational and NoSQL databases, and secure handling of PII and credentials.
• Familiarity with security and compliance frameworks relevant to identity systems, such as SOC 2 or HIPAA, is a plus.
• We want someone who has led technical design conversations and provided guidance on best practices, coding standards, and architecture principles.
• We need excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities, plus a track record of delivering high-quality code in a fast-moving environment.
• We value strong collaboration and communication skills, along with experience mentoring junior engineers and working across functions.

• We will rely on you to shape the technical vision and roadmap for our Identity Platform.
• You will lead the design, development, and upkeep of highly scalable, performant, and reliable authentication and authorization systems, including login, session management, token issuance, and access control.
• You will propose, build, and implement cloud-based identity solutions that improve the flexibility, agility, and scale of our authentication infrastructure, including SSO, MFA, and federated identity integrations.
• You will own and continuously refine our auth platform, establishing consistent standards for authentication and authorization across services and client applications.
• You will drive technical design discussions and guide teammates on secure engineering practices, coding conventions, and architecture direction.
• You will partner closely with product, security, and compliance teams to deliver new auth capabilities that meet customer needs and our quality standards.
• You will mentor mid-level engineers and help foster a culture of ongoing learning and technical growth.
• You will assess emerging identity and access management technologies, tools, and trends to improve innovation and engineering efficiency.
