Physician Manager (NS)

Under the direction of the Deputy Chief Medical Officer and the Chief Medical Officer, this position is responsible, with other clinical discipline leaders, for the planning and organization of clinical care and clinical staff functions. The position directs overall delivery of care on the Geriatric Services Unit (GSU) and collaborates with the unit leadership of other professional disciplines to ensure that appropriate care is provided and that the hospital mission, values, and goals are transmitted to clinical staff. This position supervises GSU psychiatric Medical Staff and coordinates the GSU clinical, training and research efforts. This position carries a half-time clinical caseload.

Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• The ability to work with an interdisciplinary team to integrate care.
• The ability to supervise others who provide medical care to patients.
• Completion of an accredited psychiatry residency.
• Completion of an accredited geriatric psychiatry fellowship.

This position is exempt and is exempt from certain provisions of the State Human Resources Act (GS 126). This position is designated as mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather events.

This is a full-time position and eligible for the full State benefits package including health insurance and retirement. The normal work schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; however, flexibility is required to meet facility needs.
