We are seeking a detail-oriented Human Resources & Payroll Coordinator to provide administrative support involving payroll, benefits, compliance, onboarding, and employee records. This full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity is ideal for a dependable HR professional who can maintain confidentiality, manage multiple priorities, and work accurately in a fast-paced environment.

Upon permanent hire, compensation may go up, depending on experience.

Responsibilities
- Process weekly payroll for confidential employees
- Submit payroll tax payments and 401(k) contributions
- Process garnishments and EDD documentation
- Review monthly health insurance invoices
- Track FMLA and other employee leaves
- Complete employment verifications
- Maintain I-9 records and conduct audits
- Coordinate onboarding and new-hire documentation
- Prepare offer letters and schedule interviews
- Maintain confidential employee records
- Support HR projects and administrative needs

Qualifications
- 2+ years of HR, payroll, benefits, or related administrative experience
- Payroll processing experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of benefits, FMLA, I-9s, and HR compliance
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong attention to detail and confidentiality
- Excellent organization and follow-up skills
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Experience with HRIS or payroll systems preferred
