Assembler Tester B - 2nd Shift

Eaton’s IS AER FMC division is currently seeking an Assembler Tester B - 2nd Shift. The core hours are 1:45pm to 11:45pm. The hourly rate for this position is $25.88 + $2.00/hr shift differential per hour. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. What You’ll Do Assemble and test mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, and top assemblies of simple to most complex product line that includes but is not limited to commercial parts for customers such as Boeing, Embraer, Gulfstream, Cessna, and Airbus. May occasionally work on electrical assemblies and solder. May also be required to work on unusual work where standard or recognizable methods and processes may not be available. Organize data and prepare test reports. Perform lock wire/safety wire and nameplate. Perform visual inspection, identify any defective items and handle according to established procedures. Utilize hand tools such as pliers, wrenches, screwdrivers, arbor press, vises, soldering iron, depth micrometers, calipers, lockwire pliers, dial indicators, pressure gauges, flow meters, multimeters, test boxes or specialized test equipment as needed. Proficient interpreting blueprints, wiring diagrams, testing schematics, verbal, and/or written instructions. Material preparation including lapping of surfaces with proper tooling techniques and compounds. Perform cross training when required. Proactively identifies and helps assist in process improvements. May perform acceptance tests on repaired, modified, returned or production units. Conduct in‑person testing as required. Determine when and if an Engineering Change Order (ECO) is required and may work with Manufacturing and Quality Engineering to implement assembly and test procedures. May act as department representative in customer audits/visits. Use test equipment to perform in‑process testing and final Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs). Qualifications Basic (Required) Qualifications Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution. A minimum of 2 years in assembly within a manufacturing, aerospace, or military environment. A minimum of 2 years of testing one or more of the following: mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or electromechanical assemblies. Applicants must be a U.S. person as defined by U.S. Government export regulations. Preferred Qualifications 6 years’ experience in aerospace manufacturing. Associate’s degree in a technical field. Experience working in an FAA environment. Position Criteria Ability to read assembly blueprints, wiring diagrams, and testing schematics. Working knowledge of shop test equipment and testing procedures and the ability to test a variety of assemblies/sub‑assemblies. Know‑how and ability to work with inspection gauges, multimeters, force scales, torque wrenches, and production test equipment. Ability to work from written and verbal instructions. Working knowledge of Eaton production units or similar electromechanical products; ability to retain knowledge of units produced. Ability to cross train on a variety of hardware/sub‑assemblies. Ability to effectively communicate and interact with other departments and organizations; ability to accumulate and record data to support process improvement ideas. Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 25 lbs. Computer proficiency. Attention to detail. Willing to perform repetitive tasks while sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
