Job Summary

Join our team in McPherson,KS a city known for its thriving manufacturing industry and welcoming community. As a member of our production team, you will be responsible for the general assembly of components according to product specifications, engineering drawings, work orders, and quality procedures. You will receive cross-training in various tasks, including grinding, completing assembly checklists, testing parts, and monitoring stock bins. Your role will require the use of a variety of hand and pneumatic tools, and you will report directly to the Production Supervisor and the Plant Manager.

Responsibilities

• Assemble components according to blueprints, routers, work orders, checklists, and specifications to build, assemble, and test parts and finished goods that meet quality standards in an accurate and timely fashion.
• Accurately complete assembly checklists.
• Monitor stock bins in the work area and report stock needs to Shop Floor Lead(s).
• Ensure a safe and healthy work environment by following company standards and procedures.
• Adhere to the company's Code of Conduct.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Possess basic math skills.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to work effectively unsupervised.
• Strategic and creative thinking to analyze issues and create solutions.
• Ability to respond positively to feedback and implement changes in processes and procedures as needed.
• Ability to understand and interpret drawings, BOMs, and procedures.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Stand and/or walk for 10 hours a day, with minimal breaks.
• Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds independently or up to 50 pounds with assistance.
• Vision abilities include close and distance vision, color distinction, and observing small handwriting, labels, and components.
• Always required to wear steel-toed shoes and safety glasses.
• Required to wear hearing protection in designated areas.
• Must be on-site during scheduled shifts to perform daily duties and responsibilities, requiring daily face-to-face interaction and communication with employees on the production line and management.

Work Environment

The employee will typically work on the production shop floor, which does not have controlled temperatures and will vary based on weather conditions. The environment may occasionally expose employees to fumes and minimal to moderate noise.

Shift and Schedule

Monday-Thursday 6:00 am to 4:30 pm. Overtime hours may be available or required according to business needs and within the parameters of any applicable federal/state laws.
