Risk Manager

As a Risk Manager with our Randstad client in Washington, DC, you will play a critical role in supporting the development and execution of the program's risk management strategy. This role is pivotal in identifying and mitigating risks that may impact cost, schedule, and overall progress management. The Program Risk Manager will be responsible for conducting risk analysis, implementing best practices in risk management, and effectively communicating findings to program team members and senior leadership through reports and dashboards. Furthermore, this position will actively participate in decision-making processes with senior leadership to determine risk responses and messaging.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Analysis: Analyze project/program documentation and collaborate with team members to define project characteristics and its risk profile.
DRI Facilitator: Facilitate structured Project Definition Rating Index (PDRI) assessment exercises with project team members. Risk Register Management: Assist in the implementation and maintenance of the risk register.
Data Development and Maintenance: Collect and organize project documentation, encoding project information into established systems.
Reporting and Presentation: Communicate findings, conclusions, and recommendations of the risk management team through written reports and presentations.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience with a Master's degree or PhD.
• 3 to 5 years of project management experience with a Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• This position may be offered to a candidate authorized to work in the US for his/her/their stated employer, without any restrictions which would prevent the candidate from working on the proposed assignment for the duration of the assignment period.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Proficiency in project management best practices.
• Familiarity with data codification, metrics generation, and mathematical modeling.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Experience, Education, or Qualifications:

• Experience in project management consulting.
• Background in project assurance.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification in good standing.
• Experience in the transportation industry.
