Clinical Laboratory Technician - Core Lab
$27 - $41 per hourLabcorp
Labcorp seeks a Laboratory Technician for its core lab in Holyoke, MA, working nights (Sunday–Thursday, 10 pm–6:30 am). The role involves specimen evaluation, technical testing procedures, instrument operation, quality control, and maintaining a safe laboratory environment in a high-volume setting.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate specimen acceptability according to established laboratory criteria
- Perform routine and complex technical procedures following departmental Standard Operating Procedures
- Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation for proper function
- Perform and document preventative maintenance, quality control, and reagent evaluation procedures
- Report accurate and timely test results and maintain safe work environment with appropriate personal protective equipment
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Chemical Science, Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
- 3+ months clinical laboratory testing experience in Microbiology (preferred)
- ASCP or AMT certification (preferred)
- Proficiency with computers and laboratory information systems
- Ability to pass standardized color blindness test
- High attention to detail with strong communication and organizational skills
Compensation: $27.00–$41.00 per hour plus shift differential; $5,000 sign-on bonus for external candidates
