ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated ICU Registered Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in critical care nursing and demonstrate the ability to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details

• Shift: Days
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Required Experience: Minimum of 2 years

Certifications

• ACLS (AHA)
• BLS (AHA)
• NIHSS
• CRRT

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to critically ill patients in a 10-bed ICU setting.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions and respond to changes in status.
• Administer medications and initiate IV therapy, ensuring adherence to protocols.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including hospitalists and respiratory therapists, to optimize patient outcomes.
• Titrate drips as needed, including vasopressors, inotropes, sedatives, and analgesics.
• Utilize telehealth tools for critical care and pulmonary needs, especially in rural settings.
• Participate in self-scheduling, ensuring equitable distribution of shifts among staff.

Work Environment

The ICU unit features a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2 and is equipped with necessary respiratory therapy equipment, including CPAP, BiPAP, and ventilators. Registered Nurses are required to read telemetry strips independently and escalate concerns as needed.

Additional Information

• Weekend Requirements: Full-time and part-time employees are expected to self-schedule a minimum of six weekend shifts within a six-week period.
• Orientation: A week-long orientation will be provided for new clinicians, during which attendance is mandatory even if certain modules are remote.
• Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs are required.
• Floating Requirements: Floating may occur within the region as deemed necessary by management, based on unit needs.
