General Purpose Of Job Under the direct supervision of the Store Management team, the Professional Color Advisor (Color Consultant) is the go‑to expert for assisting homeowners with designing color schemes and palettes while providing superior customer service. Salary $20.00 - $24.00 per hour. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Display outstanding phone and email etiquette. Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude at all times. Build connections with customers and provide educated advice based on conversations. Attend training classes and monthly store meetings to improve department operations. Learn and utilize Dunn‑Edwards sales aids, including the Specification Guide, Perfect Palette Color System, computer renderings in Photoshop, Product Information Sheets, and Safety Data Sheets. Understand how different lighting sources affect color change. Develop product knowledge through corporate training tools, pamphlets, and classes. Be in view and readily available to assist customers on the sales floor. Process orders over telephone and in‑person, operate the cash register, and apply paint to customer vehicles. Participate in store maintenance and housekeeping. Provide feedback to management regarding Color Advisor issues and customer service concerns. Maintain appointment schedules and logs for in‑store consultations and report all appointments to the manager. Work independently and as a team player. Multi‑task in a retail setting and meet deadlines as required. Legally drive own vehicle to assigned business units, meetings, and events. Assist in training store sales associates on color design, recommendations, and techniques. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Interior Design degree or current enrollment in a degree program required. Ability to read, write, and communicate in English. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to read and interpret professional publications. Ability to produce reports and business correspondence. Ability to present information effectively and respond to questions from individuals and groups. Bilingual proficiency is a plus. Legal driving privileges and ability to drive own vehicle. Physical Requirements Ability to lift items weighing 5 to 75 pounds. Use of electronic equipment, including computers, POS devices, and communication devices. Driving large delivery vehicles. Climbing ladders and walking on uneven surfaces (e.g., construction sites). Standing for extended periods. Use of respirator if required. Benefits Health, dental, and vision insurance.
