Responsibilities Be the Personal Care MVP : Help residents with daily needs—bathing, dressing, meals, laundry, and related care with attention to detail (e.g., combed hair, tied shoes, fresh breath). Stay One Step Ahead : Observe for needs such as hygiene issues, broken glasses, new rashes, or missing hearing aids and inform your supervisor. Keep the Communication Flowing : Communicate regularly with your supervisor and teammates to stay informed about resident issues. Be a Safety Guardian : Monitor safety and well-being; report concerns about abuse, neglect, or misuse of resources as required. Track the Changes : Report shifts in residents’ health or status and document as directed. Master the Medication Routine : Assist with prescribed daily medications following state laws and procedures; verify the right resident, dose, time, medication, and route; escalate concerns to the RN/LPN and document refusals or questions. Keep Supplies Stocked : Restock medication carts and storage with supplies like gloves and sanitizer. Communicate Needs : Submit work orders for replacements or repairs as needed. Show Up for the Team : Attend and participate in monthly staff meetings addressing resident needs and department updates. Roll with It : Handle other duties as assigned with flexibility and a positive attitude. Basic Qualifications & Experience Medication certification; QMAP-A/L, Med Tech, Med Aide, Nurse Delegation per state requirements Must be able to read, write and speak English High school diploma or equivalent (GED) One (1) year experience in elder care preferred Strong self-management and organization skills Strong multi-tasking abilities with the ability to handle deadlines; flexible and adaptable Ability to handle difficult and sensitive issues and maintain confidentiality Working Conditions / Physical Requirements Moderate physical activity, able to handle objects up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 20 pounds frequently Constant standing, walking, and grasping; frequent stooping and reaching; occasional sitting, crawling, kneeling, and squatting Possible exposure to bloodborne pathogens, body excretions, and communicable diseases Possible exposure to household chemicals Ability to sit, stand, bend, and move intermittently during shifts May be subject to frequent interruptions and interactions with clients, family members, and visitors Benefits Retirement (with match) Dental, Vision, Disability & Life Insurance Additional benefits may vary by role status (PT, FT, or PRN) We envision a warm and welcoming environment for all residents, team members, family members, and community members—a place of belonging.
