Job Description

This contract role offers the opportunity to work as an Avionics Technician on a major helicopter retrofit program, performing installation, modification, and troubleshooting on LUH-72, H-125, and H-145 aircraft. You will contribute to complex avionics projects in a modern, climate-controlled facility, focusing on heavy modification and installation work on rotary-wing platforms.

Responsibilities

• Perform avionics installation, modification, and troubleshooting on LUH-72, H-125, and H-145 aircraft in support of retrofit projects.
• Carry out heavy modification and installation tasks on rotary-wing aircraft, ensuring work meets all applicable standards and specifications.
• Install and modify avionics systems, including wiring harnesses and related components, following engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Work with avionics systems on platforms such as EC-145, EC-135, LUH-72, UH-60, and AH-64, as applicable to project requirements.
• Ensure proper routing, termination, and testing of avionics wiring harnesses to maintain system integrity and reliability.
• Diagnose and resolve avionics issues by using appropriate troubleshooting methods and test equipment.
• Collaborate with other technicians and project teams to coordinate installation and modification activities and meet project schedules.
• Document work performed accurately, including modifications, installations, and any deviations, in accordance with internal procedures.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area within the hangar and completion center environment.

Essential Skills

• Avionics installation and modification experience is required.
• Experience with heavy modification and installation on aircraft, preferably rotary wing platforms.
• Hands-on experience installing and modifying avionics systems and wiring harnesses.
• Ability to perform troubleshooting on avionics systems and resolve technical issues.
• Familiarity with avionics work on aircraft types such as LUH-72, H-125, H-145, EC-145, EC-135, UH-60, or AH-64 is strongly preferred.
• Capability to read and follow technical documentation, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
• Level I: 6–14 years of relevant avionics experience.
• Level II: 15 or more years of relevant avionics experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Rotary-wing avionics experience is preferred and highly valued.
• Fixed-wing avionics installation and modification experience may be considered if strong in modification and installation work.
• Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) experience is a plus but not required.
• Experience working in hangar or completion center environments is beneficial.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality in all installation and modification tasks.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and adapt to changing project needs.

Work Environment

Work takes place in a hangar and completion center within a modern, state-of-the-art facility that is fully climate controlled for comfort and consistency. All necessary tools are provided on site, minimizing personal equipment requirements and supporting efficient work. The environment is organized and professional, focused on high-quality retrofit and completion projects for helicopters, with collaborative teams and clear processes to support safe and efficient avionics installation and modification work.

This is a Contract position based out of Columbus, MS.

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $42.50/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Columbus,MS.
