Press Operator
The press operator monitors and supports boiler systems from a control room to ensure safe, efficient, and consistent operation. This role focuses on observing system data, maintaining proper temperatures and performance, and performing light mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance to keep equipment running smoothly in a clean, climate-controlled food manufacturing facility.
Responsibilities
- Monitor boiler systems from a control room using multiple screens and displays to ensure all equipment operates within specified data points and temperature ranges.
- Continuously observe system performance indicators and respond promptly to any alarms, irregular readings, or deviations from standard operating parameters.
- Perform light troubleshooting on machines when issues arise, identifying basic mechanical problems and taking appropriate corrective actions.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as greasing bearings, changing filters, and replacing belts to support reliable equipment operation.
- Ensure all required quality checks are completed accurately and on schedule, documenting results as needed.
- Follow established safety procedures and operational guidelines while working around boiler systems and related equipment.
- Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors about equipment status, issues identified, and maintenance activities performed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in the control room and on the production floor, supporting overall facility cleanliness standards.
Essential Skills
- Mechanical inclination and the ability to understand how mechanical systems and components work together.
- Basic troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve common equipment and machinery issues.
- Experience or familiarity with mechanical assembly tasks such as working with belts, bearings, and filters.
- Ability to monitor boiler operation and boiler control systems, including reading gauges, screens, and data points.
- Attention to detail when observing system data, performing quality checks, and completing maintenance tasks.
- Capability to follow written and verbal instructions, safety procedures, and standard operating guidelines.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working around boilers or in boiler operation environments (preferred but not required).
- Previous exposure to food manufacturing or production facilities.
- Comfort working with mechanical tools and equipment for light maintenance tasks.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and report equipment issues.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new systems, processes, and equipment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Long Prairie, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr.
