Overview:

Suzuki Law Offices is seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and bilingual Legal Assistant to support our Criminal Defense Department. This pivotal role serves as a bridge between client engagement and legal case development by managing intake processes with professionalism, accuracy, and exceptional customer service.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining case files, ensuring clear communication, and providing timely follow-up. This position incorporates client coordination and team collaboration within a fast-paced legal environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Case Management Support

• Assist with the initial handling and ongoing management of case files.
• Ensure documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with legal standards and internal protocols.

Phone & Client Communication

• Maintain professionalism and accuracy in all client interactions and documentation.
• Deliver outstanding customer service at every client touchpoint.

Appointment & Calendar Management

• Maintain accurate records of appointments and court hearing updates.
• Utilize tracking systems to monitor follow-ups and report progress to the on-call paralegal.

Technical Proficiency

• Effectively utilize Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), spreadsheets, and legal case management software.

Collaboration & Teamwork

• Work cohesively within a collaborative team environment.
• Contribute positively to office morale, efficiency, and productivity.

Qualifications:

Experience

• Minimum of 2 year of experience as a Legal Assistant in a Criminal Defense setting (required).
• Prefers 2 Years of Experience as a Legal Assistant.

Education

• Associate's Degree
• Certification in paralegal studies is a plus.

Technology Skills

• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Experience with computer-based tracking systems and case management software (e.g., MyCase or similar platforms).

Communication Skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Professional, positive, and confident demeanor.

Bilingual Skills

• Fluency in Spanish Preferred.
