Job Summary

The Plant Operations & EVS Coordinator provides oversight of maintenance, grounds, and environmental services operations. This position ensures a clean, organized, safe, and efficient environment while maintaining regulatory compliance and organizational standards.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, and understand verbal and written communication. 
• High School Diploma or GED preferred. 
• Previous maintenance and environmental services experience preferred. 
• Knowledge of infection prevention and control practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Supervisory experience in plant operations, maintenance, or environmental services. 
• Experience working in a healthcare or long-term care setting. 
• Knowledge of regulatory and life-safety standards. 
• Experience with preventive maintenance programs and staff training.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintain facility systems, equipment, and grounds through preventive maintenance and repair activities. 
• Coordinate and monitor maintenance and environmental services staff assignments. 
• Develop and improve housekeeping and environmental service programs. 
• Assist with hiring, training, scheduling, and staff development. 
• Evaluate employee work performance and provide coaching as needed. 
• Participate in quality improvement and QAPI activities. 
• Train staff on equipment operation, chemical safety, and proper tool usage. 
• Oversee facility cleaning schedules and master cleaning plans. 
• Conduct inspections to ensure a safe, sanitary, and compliant environment. 
• Coordinate routine maintenance projects and special projects. 
• Monitor departmental logs, reports, and communications. 
• Manage purchasing of equipment, supplies, and chemicals. 
• Assist with emergency preparedness, disaster planning, and fire drills. 
• Refer policy changes and contract decisions to the Nursing Home Administrator. 
• Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). 
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and perform overhead lifting.

• Ability to safely operate maintenance equipment, tools, and machinery. 
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying environmental conditions.
