Senior Electrical Engineer

Role description We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with a strong background in the water‑wastewater industry to join our Resilience Water team in the Northeast. The primary focus of this role will be to provide technical and design consulting services for projects related to electrical power distribution, electrical controls, lighting, fire alarm, access control, and communications to support the Water Division. Role accountabilities Support projects and clients in the planning, design and construction of water/wastewater facilities and other industrial facilities; serve as Arcadis’ main point of contact for electrical needs. Develop project management skills and support in managing budgets and delivery schedules for each assignment. Establish design criteria, perform design calculations, develop one‑line diagrams, control schematics, plans and specifications. Provide engineering services during construction, including reviewing equipment submittals, shop drawings and responding to contractor RFIs. Conduct field inspections and assist with projects in construction, identifying deviations from design and monitoring safety compliance. Travel may be required to support project needs. Key skills and attributes Prior demonstrated consulting experience with water/wastewater and industrial facilities. Experience using AutoCAD MEP (2D and 3D), Revit, SKM Power Tools, short circuit calculations, overcurrent coordination, arc flash analysis and photometric study. Solid working knowledge of National Electrical Code requirements. Willingness and desire to mentor junior/staff electrical engineers. Excellent customer/client service skills and clear, concise verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams effectively to complete projects on time and on budget. Required qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience. 10 years of relevant experience. Registered Professional Engineer (PE).
