We are ranked within the top 50 largest convenience store chains in the country, operating 150+ company-operated locations throughout New England and ranked within the top 10 largest car wash chains in the countryGENERAL SUMMARYThe management trainee's primary responsibility is to participate in training experiences, learn new skills, and to demonstrate increasing proficiency and expertise with managerial responsibilities. The management trainee program will prepare the trainee for decisions s/he will be making, and the actions s/he will be taking in the areas of people management, operations management, and merchandising management when s/he assumes the role of store manager. The MIT assists Store Manager in all aspects of daily shift management by performing the following duties.PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Assists Store Manager in all aspects of daily shift management, including customer relations, inventory control, procedural tasks and paperwork, as well as visual merchandising.Maintains both individual and shift sales.Provides daily shift floor coverage.Trains Sales Associates.Supervises POS.Provides security & loss prevention in store.Maintains company standards regarding personal and store sales/performance metrics.Stock shelves and refrigerated coolersAssist manager in minimizing the loss of cash and inventory and operating within assigned shrink targets.Learn and ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws within the scope of the convenience/food store operationShadow manager in day to day operationsCustomer ServiceProvide the best customer experience to every customerGreet every customer with a smile and sincere greetingSuggest possible purchases to the customers and promote specialsAssume full responsibility for the execution of Nouria’s customer service program at the site levelSafety & Station AppearanceResponsible for doing what is necessary to minimize the safety risks to employees, customers and suppliers. Assure that all site employees are adequately trained on safety policies and procedures and maintains adequate controls to verify compliance to theseAssure all environmental and hazardous material regulations are strictly enforcedMaintain safety and security of the store and document any accidents or incidents that occurManage the maintenance of the customer environment inside and around the perimeter of the storeOperate all assigned equipment safely and efficientlysupport implementation of the Nouria Safety and Health programPromptly Report and investigate workplace accidents, injuries, incidents, or illnesses involving employees within the locationComplete the new employee safety orientation procedure with all new or transferred employees working at the storeRegularly inspect stores in your area of responsibility for workplace hazards and initiate corrective action immediatelyEncourage employees to report unsafe conditions or work practices and initiate corrective actionPromote a quick return to work for employees under your supervisionQUALIFICATIONS:1 year of supervisory experience in convenience store, retail, fast food, or restaurant operationsAbility to effectively perform in a fast-paced work environmentHave strong leadership and interpersonal skillsBe self-motivated, resourceful, creative, organizedMust have an outgoing personality and approachable demeanorAbility to communicate effectively with all levels of the organizationMust be able to provide any level of coverage if needed, including nights, weekends, and/or holidaysAbility to bend down, stoop low, and also stand for at least 8 hoursAbility to properly lift, pull and/or push up to 30 lbs.Successful completion of certification testing as neededAn understanding of the importance of customer service and a commitment to delivering superior customer experiences is a mustMS Outlook, Word, and Excel skillsExcellent communication skills are essentialMust be 21 years or olderPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Ensures physical maintenance, safety, cleanliness, and attractiveness of all store facilitiesPerforms other related duties as requiredMust be able to lift up to 30 pounds at timesMust be able to traverse and access all areas of the storeProlonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computerProlonged periods of standing and working at a cash registerStarting Rate: $17.27Nouria Energy is an equal opportunity employer.
