Day Camp Coordinator - Southold, NY

Day Camp Coordinator (DCC) The Day Camp Coordinator (DCC) provides administrative leadership for day camp counselors and campers and ensures that Day Camp runs safely. Key responsibilities include leading drop‑off and pick‑up each day, being present for each Round‑Up, floating during cabin activities to assist overnight staff, developing and coordinating day camp activities during cabin time, lunch, siesta, etc., setting goals with day camp counselors to foster teamwork, facilitating staff meetings, ensuring unit members are accounted for, providing regular feedback, participating in camp program planning, assisting with camp‑wide activities, interpreting safety and health regulations, and administering cabin assignments, parent communications, recording daily Choice/Challenge sign‑ups, and scheduling rosters. Required Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old to comply with NYS Department of Health regulations. Experience working with children and conflict resolution. Strong leadership skills. Ability to facilitate at least one program area. Emotional maturity, good health, and vitality. Ability to work cooperatively with campers and other staff members. Willingness to learn. Ability to meet travel requirements associated with this position. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as appropriate. Preferred Qualifications One year of college (30+ credit hours) and coursework in education, physical education, outdoor recreation, youth development, or a related field. One or more years of experience as a camp counselor. First Aid/CPR certification. Position Details Salary: $7,700 - $10,000 per season. Schedule: EXEMPT – TEMP: June 9, 2025 – August 25, 2025.
