Job Description
Sunbelt Staffing is seeking a dedicated Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) for a full-time school-based contract opportunity in the Concord, North Carolina area. This position offers the chance to work with a supportive special education team while providing services to students with a variety of communication needs. The ideal candidate is passionate about helping students build the skills necessary for academic success and meaningful social interactions.
Responsibilities
- Conduct speech and language evaluations for students referred for services
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized therapy plans and IEP goals
- Provide direct and indirect speech-language services to students
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary team members
- Participate in eligibility, staffing, and IEP meetings
- Maintain accurate therapy notes, progress reports, and compliance documentation
- Utilize evidence-based practices to support student outcomes
Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Excellent organizational and case management skills
- Ability to work effectively within a collaborative educational team
- Knowledge of speech and language disorders affecting school-aged children
- Proficiency with documentation and data collection
Qualifications
- Active North Carolina Speech-Language Pathology license
- North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) certification or eligibility preferred
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
- Clinical Fellows (CFY) are encouraged to apply
- Familiarity with special education procedures and IEP development
Education
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
Experience
- Previous school-based or pediatric experience preferred
- Experience working with diverse student populations is a plus
