Registered Nurse – PACU / Pre-Op / Phase II

Schedule / Job Type

Contract – 13-Week Assignment | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift (3x12 Hours) | Variable start times between 7:00 AM and 11:00 AM

Key Responsibilities

• Provide pre-operative, intra-operative recovery, and Phase II post-anesthesia care to patients in a fast-paced acute hospital setting
• Monitor and assess patients recovering from anesthesia, identifying and responding to changes in patient condition•
• Participate in on-call rotation, including one call shift per week with overnight availability required (approximately 10:30 PM – 7:00 AM); weekend call shifts also required
• Respond to call-in requests and arrive at the facility within 30 minutes of being called
• Float to like units within scope of practice as needed to meet facility staffing needs
• Complete documentation accurately and in a timely manner using Epic electronic health records

Required Qualifications

• Active Alaska RN license (compact license must be in hand at time of submission; pending licenses considered but license in hand strongly preferred)
• Minimum of 1 year of PACU, Pre-Op, or related RN experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Willingness and ability to participate in required on-call and weekend call rotations
• Candidate's permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility
• Commitment to working 3 of 5 designated holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Pediatric nursing experience
• Familiarity with Epic electronic health records charting system
