Assistant Project Manager (APM)

Our client is seeking an Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support heavy civil construction projects. This role will assist the Project Manager with coordinating project activities, managing documentation, and ensuring projects stay on schedule and within budget. Projects may include infrastructure, civil sitework, concrete, utilities, or transportation-related work.

Responsibilities:

• Support the Project Manager with project coordination, scheduling, and cost tracking
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
• Review plans, specifications, and contracts to ensure project compliance
• Coordinate with field teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients
• Assist with subcontractor procurement and project reporting
• Participate in project meetings and progress updates

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in construction project management, ideally in heavy civil projects
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software

Preferred Experience:

• Quality Control (QC) experience strongly preferred
• Railroad project experience is a plus, but not required
• Background in civil, infrastructure, or transportation construction
