Job Description Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator and/or program leadership, this role supports clinical research and programmatic initiatives focused on early psychosis and schizophrenia. The role provides community outreach, recruitment, and PATH Program for Early Psychosis intake support, and serves as a key point of contact for patients, families, community providers, and referral sources seeking information about clinical and research opportunities. Responsibilities also include administering and supervising comprehensive clinical assessments for research studies, including diagnostic interviews for study inclusion and exclusion, symptom‑based evaluations, and cognitive assessments. Responsibilities Conduct outreach to community clinics, providers, and community‑based organizations to increase awareness of program services and research opportunities. Deliver presentations and educational talks to community stakeholders regarding early psychosis, related clinical resources, and research opportunities. Manage phone line and email communications from patients, families, community clinicians, and referral sources seeking information about the program. Respond to inquiries in a professional, timely, and accurate manner and facilitate appropriate follow‑up, referrals, and linkage to clinical or research resources. Support participant recruitment, prescreening, tracking, and related study coordination activities for clinical research protocols. Coordinate closely with clinical and research personnel to ensure clear communication and appropriate follow‑up with prospective participants and families. Document and maintain patient clinical records and research records in accordance with clinic and study protocols. Maintain accurate and organized documentation of outreach, recruitment, and intake activities. Qualifications Master's degree from an accredited school of social work or related field, or an equivalent combination of training/experience. Possession of the requirements necessary for application for licensure as a clinical social worker as determined by the California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners. Excellent documentation and clinical skills, ability to set priorities, work independently, excellent follow‑up, and work well under pressure and deadlines. Able to work with and navigate various community partners, including community clinics, providers, and community‑based organizations to increase awareness of program services and research opportunities. Familiarity with standard research methodology and prior interviewing experience to ensure both sensitivity and quality data collection. Excellent assessment skills; familiarity and ability to perform standardized assessments for psychosis and psychosis risk. Excellent communication skills for working with patients, clinic staff, and research staff. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge about and previous experience with early psychosis and clinical high risk. Experience working with populations that are diverse in gender, sexual orientation, language, country of origin, race, and ethnicity as gained as part of study or while in school, or internship in a similar institution. Experience doing case management and outreach. Licenses/Certifications Possession of the requirements necessary for application for licensure as a clinical social worker as determined by the California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners. Salary Information The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF.
