Our client is hiring for a Technical Denials Specialist to support the Central Billing Office for a major hospital system. This fully onsite opportunity in Skokie, IL is ideal for candidates with strong healthcare billing and denial management experience, particularly those with the ability to independently handle first- and second-level appeals. The Technical Denials Specialist will be responsible for researching, analyzing, and resolving complex claim denials while partnering with internal teams and insurance payers to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement.

Responsibilities

• Review, research, and resolve complex insurance claim denials
• Prepare and submit first- and second-level appeals with supporting documentation
• Analyze denial root causes and identify reimbursement trends
• Work payer correspondence, appeals, reconsiderations, and follow-up activities
• Utilize EPIC and other billing systems to manage denial workqueues and account documentation
• Collaborate with billing, coding, and revenue cycle teams to resolve claim issues
• Ensure compliance with payer guidelines, billing regulations, and hospital policies
• Maintain productivity and quality standards in a high-volume environment
• Support process improvement initiatives aimed at reducing future denials

Qualifications

• 2+ years of medical billing and denial management experience
• Experience handling first- and second-level appeals required
• Strong understanding of healthcare revenue cycle operations and insurance claims processing
• EPIC billing experience strongly preferred
• Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers
• Ability to research and resolve technical denials independently
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment

• Schedule: 7am-4pm or 8am-5pm | Monday–Friday
• Pay: $25-28/hour
