Senior Electrical Engineer - Power Systems

Amgen Inc

A senior electrical engineer for power systems will join Amgen's manufacturing facility in Holly Springs, supporting design, construction, and commissioning of electrical systems for process, utilities, and building infrastructure. The role involves collaborating with capital projects and operations teams to ensure systems meet company standards, regulatory requirements, and project timelines while optimizing quality and lifecycle costs.

Responsibilities

Lead electrical design and planning for capital projects from conception through commissioning
Support factory acceptance testing, construction oversight, and resolution of technical issues
Execute system commissioning and validation to ensure GMP compliance and operational readiness
Provide engineering expertise for plant operations, troubleshooting, and equipment optimization
Drive engineering improvements, root cause analysis, and preventive actions for manufacturing systems

Requirements

Bachelor's degree with 4+ years engineering experience, or equivalent combination
Professional Engineer (PE) registration preferred
Expertise in electrical design for process, utilities, and building systems
Experience with pharmaceutical or biotech manufacturing plant operations
Knowledge of GMP regulations and validation/commissioning processes
Proficiency in capital project management and equipment selection
