Qualifications and Skills:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Experience interpreting in an educational or school setting

• Strong interpersonal, listening, and collaboration skills
• Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (state or national certification preferred)
• Professionalism, dependability, and a flexible approach to meeting student needs

Responsibilities:

• Interpret spoken and signed communication between students, teachers, and other school personnel
• Provide in-class, small group, and one-on-one interpretation services
• Support accessible learning by accurately conveying academic and social information
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all ethical standards in educational interpreting
• Participate in team meetings as needed to support student progress
• Collaborate with educators to ensure equal access to instruction and activities
