This is a dual posting with job ID 59202. Only one position will be filled between both postings, depending on the qualifications of the final candidate.

\n  The Department of Neurosurgery is pleased to announce the opening of a Nurse Practitioner - Specialty Care III. This individual will act as a physician extender for the collaborating surgeons in the Neurosurgery Department.

\n Duties include but are not limited to:
\n Independently providing assistance in a multidisciplinary practice for adult patient populations. 
\n Perform essential patient care functions, which include diagnosing and treat neurosurgical surgical patients in the clinic. 
\n Perform physical examinations, order diagnostic tests, and perform or assist with minor procedures. 
\n Assist in the evaluation and assessment of potential surgical candidates. 
\n Obtain and document a complete and focused history and physical and be able to relate other aspects of medical information to the surgeons and physicians. 
\n Participate in the Missouri Telehealth Network by providing Telemedicine return clinic appointments via Polycom connection. 
\n Assist in the identification of trends related to patients and participate in quality improvement activities and helping to guide the development and implementation of structure, process, and outcomes standards. 
\n Actively participate in clinical research, as needed. Assist as needed in OR. 
\n Perform and lead minor procedures with an opportunity for growth. Assist with inpatient consultations. 
\n Demonstrate a high level of autonomy and expert skills in the diagnosis and treatment of actual and potential health problems. 
\n Other duties as assigned.     

Benefits include hiring bonus, relocation assistance and optional weekend shift coverage at $125 per hour.

NP Candidates must possess graduation certificate from an accredited nurse practitioner program. May possess a specialty certificate by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB), the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN), the Pediatric Certification Nursing Board (PCNB), and the National Certification Corporation (NCC). Licensure as a registered professional nurse in the State of Missouri and must be granted Document of Recognition as a certified nurse practitioner from the Missouri State Board of Nursing.

Master of Science in Nursing degree.
\n Missouri Board of Nursing RN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state RN. When primary state of residency changes, compact state RNs must apply under new state of residency within thirty (30) days.  
\n Must be granted a Document of Recognition from the Missouri Board of Nursing.
