Hiring Department Neurosurgery Job Description (This is a Dual Posting linked with Job ID 57893 and 4 total positions will be hired. Final titles will depend on the qualifications of the final candidates.) Act as a physician extender for collaborating surgeons in the Neurosurgery Department. Independently provide assistance in a multidisciplinary practice for adult patient populations. Diagnose and treat neurosurgical patients in the clinic. Perform physical examinations, order diagnostic tests, and assist with minor procedures. Assist in the evaluation and assessment of potential surgical candidates. Obtain and document a complete and focused history and physical and relate other aspects of medical information to the surgeons and physicians. Participate in the Missouri Telehealth Network by providing Telemedicine return clinic appointments via Polycom connection. Identify trends related to patients and participate in quality improvement activities and guide the development and implementation of structure, process, and outcomes standards. Actively participate in clinical research, as needed. Assist in OR and perform and lead minor procedures with an opportunity for growth. Assist with inpatient consultations. Demonstrate a high level of autonomy and expert skills in the diagnosis and treatment of actual and potential health problems. Other duties as assigned. Shift Monday through Friday - 12 hour shifts (minimum 2 shifts per month) Minimum Qualifications Master of Science in Nursing degree. Missouri Board of Nursing RN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi‑state RN. When primary state of residency changes, compact state RNs must apply under the new state of residency within thirty (30) days. Must be granted a "Document of Recognition" from the Missouri Board of Nursing. Preferred Qualifications Possess a specialty certificate by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB), the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN), the Pediatric Certification Nursing Board (PCNB), or the National Certification Corporation (NCC). Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
