Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Stepdown - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 06/29/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel RN Position Job Notes: Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity: /n RN - Stepdown /n/n Job Details: /n • Work 12-hour night shifts with 36 guaranteed hours per week (3x12 schedule) /n• Patient ratios of 1:4 on nights /n• Weekend requirement: 2 shifts every other weekend (Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday) /n• Must have 2 years of nursing experience with bedside experience within the last 6 months /n• Required certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH Stroke Scale /n• Must have experience with ventilators, titration of pressors, and insulin drips /n• Must be proficient in titration of vasopressors, sedation medications, arterial lines, cardiac arrhythmias, chest tubes, and trach ventilated patients /n• Special equipment experience required: BiPAP, OptiFlow, arterial lines /n• Will float to floors that are lower acuity as needed /n• No on-call requirements /n• Travel experience required /n• Scrub color: Navy /n• Charting system: EPIC /n• 24 hours of orientation provided /n• Must be able to manage complex procedures including external pacemakers, chest tubes, and various drips /n• Adult patient population with daily census of 25 patients /n• Interdisciplinary support includes Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Social Services, and Rapid Response Teams /n/n Facility: /n This acute care hospital features 233 staffed beds and operates as a high-acuity stepdown unit that serves as a bridge between ICU and medical-surgical care. The facility specializes in caring for patients requiring complex medical interventions including ventilator management, vasoactive drip titrations, and advanced cardiac monitoring.
