Description:
Responsibilities include providing care in a step-down unit for patients recovering from intensive care.
Ratios are 1:4.
Must have experience in titration of vasopressors, sedation medications, insulin drips, and care of ventilated patients.
Familiarity with chest tubes, arterial lines, and cardiac arrhythmias is essential.
Candidates must have been at the bedside within the last 6 months.
Daily census for the unit averages 25 patients.
The unit provides acute medical care, typically serving as a step-down from intensive care.
Staffing includes interdisciplinary support from various services.
Must float to lower acuity floors as needed.
Flexibility in scheduling and adherence to weekend requirements is necessary.
All travelers must comply with specific documentation and certification requirements prior to starting the assignment.
