Job Details Location: Clemmons, NC 27012 Position Type: Full Time Salary Range: $19.50 Position Summary The Processing Coordinator is responsible for performing and coordinating ocular tissue processing activities, ensuring compliance with FDA, EBAA, and organizational standards to maintain accuracy, safety, and efficiency. This role supports the Processing Team Lead, Quality Assurance, Recovery, and Distribution teams and contributes to the organization’s mission of delivering high-quality tissue through regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Perform and coordinate ocular tissue processing and clinical activities, ensuring timely and accurate completion of tasks. Conduct basic and advanced tissue processing, including corneal excision (with or without sclera), Ampho B supplementation, and tissue transfers. Evaluate ocular tissue using slit lamp biomicroscopy and specular microscopy; interpret findings and perform post-processing evaluations. Maintain compliance with FDA, EBAA, and organizational standards. Follow and help implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for processing and clinical activities. Support audits and inspections to ensure quality and regulatory compliance. Maintain accurate records of processing activities, tissue evaluations, and equipment maintenance. Report performance metrics and contribute to process improvement initiatives. Monitor inventory levels and ensure availability of necessary supplies and equipment. Clean, disinfect, sterilize reusable equipment, and maintain laboratory equipment and work areas in compliance with SOPs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Quality Assurance, Recovery, and Distribution, to ensure workflow efficiency. Participate in training sessions to maintain competency and adherence to protocols. Demonstrate proficiency in all clinical activities and circulate as part of the clinical processing team as needed. Uphold the organization’s mission, values, and commitment to quality service. Qualifications Two years of experience and an associate’s degree in a related field preferred. Excellent documentation, organization, and assessment skills. Computer literacy and familiarity with databases and office software. Strong attention to detail with ability to manage multiple priorities accurately and efficiently. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with internal and external contacts. Position may require evening, weekend, or holiday work based on organizational needs. Must maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive information. Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance. Physical Demands Must be able to perform duties that require standing, walking, bending, lifting, and reaching. Ability to push / pull up to 25 lbs. Requires manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and visual acuity to perform detailed tasks and operate equipment. Must be able to work in varied environments such as hospitals, surgical suites, laboratories, or other field settings. Requires ability to sit or stand for extended periods and to drive for work-related travel. Must be able to use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by organizational and regulatory standards. Ability to respond to job‑related demands during irregular hours, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as assigned.
