Senior Director, Tax (Hybrid)

Avantor seeks a Senior Director of Tax to develop and implement corporate tax planning strategies, manage international tax compliance, and oversee M&A and restructuring initiatives. This hybrid role reports to the SVP of Tax and involves advising leadership on tax implications of business decisions while managing global tax exposure.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute corporate tax planning strategies to optimize legal/operational structure and minimize worldwide effective tax rate
• Lead strategic development of corporate transactions including mergers, acquisitions, and restructurings while assessing global tax implications
• Design and oversee transfer pricing programs for intercompany cross-border transactions and related documentation
• Manage tax audit defense, settlement negotiations, and resolution with federal, state, and foreign tax authorities
• Build, mentor, and lead the tax team; provide global ETR and cash tax forecasts for management

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required; CPA, MBA, or Master's in Taxation preferred
• 15+ years of corporate tax and/or public accounting experience
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Strong technical tax analysis and problem-solving capabilities
• Demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Deep knowledge of transfer pricing, M&A tax, and international tax compliance
