Server Position

Provides exceptional service and dining experiences to the guests. Responsible for taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring guest satisfaction through attentive and friendly service. Under general supervision, performs food and beverage activities in support of one of the restaurants in accordance with the respective outlet service guidelines. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provides excellent customer service and always establishes guest perception of restaurant service as that of exceptional hospitality and friendliness. Manages orders from guests, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to special requests, while coordinating with kitchen and bar staff. Promotes menu items, specials, and promotions to enhance guest satisfaction and increase revenue through upselling and suggestive selling techniques. Adheres to all applicable laws and regulations governing alcohol service, including age verification and responsible beverage service practices. Monitors and intervenes service to guests who appear intoxicated, and handles challenging situations with tact and diplomacy, notifies an on-duty supervisor to follow up with the guests. Maintains thorough knowledge of property information regarding restaurants, entertainment, lounges, marketing promotions, upcoming events as well as local points of interest. Processes payments accurately and efficiently, handling cash, credit card transactions, and any forms of payment accordingly to established procedures. Responsible for all opening and closing side work duties as assigned by management. Participates in daily stand-up meetings to ensure property information is understood. Adheres to all food safety and hygiene regulations, responsible alcohol service guidelines, to ensure the well-being of guests and compliance with legal requirements. Works as part of a cohesive team, assisting fellow team members as needed, fostering a positive and supportive work environment. Maintains cleanliness, presentation, and organization of dining areas; including tables, chairs, and condiments stations, to provide a pleasant and inviting environment and adhering to food safety regulations. Communication with supervisors and/or managers regarding guest issues that are in need of addressing. Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility for all team members and are expected to report to work based upon the assigned schedule each day in accordance with the Attendance Policy for Pueblo of Sandia.

A quality guest service experience is an essential component for all Team members working at the Pueblo of Sandia particularly those positions assigned to work in all public areas. Team members in this capacity: Serves as the initial point of contact for guest inquiries in a courteous and attentive manner. Reflects a sense of trust, comfort and understanding by demonstrating empathy for guests when problems occur. Resolves all issues in a timely manner, ensuring guest satisfaction and exceeding expectations. Possesses knowledge and understanding of all products and services offered. Builds relationships with guests based upon respect, and confidence while maintaining a friendly, and approachable demeanor.

This position has Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) identified as a measurement of success. KPI's will be shared with all team members who work in this job title and feedback will be provided regarding the successful completion of the KPI's as part of the performance review process.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of menu offering, including ingredients, cooking methods, and presentation, to effectively guide guests and answer inquiries. Knowledge of beverage selection, including wines, cocktails, beers, and non-alcoholic options. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, such as taking orders, serving tables, and processing payments. Ability to follow instructions. Exhibiting a strong commitment to the organization. Ability to deal effectively and professionally with the general public and be attentive to customer's needs. Adaptability to navigate through dynamic and fast paced environments, maintaining composure and professionalism during peak periods and challenging situations. Maintain the highest standard of personal hygiene. Ability to perform basic math calculations and pass a basic math test. Knowledge of minimum temperature requirements for food/drink preservation. Knowledge of Tribal, federal, state and local sanitary regulations regarding the preparation, maintenance, storage and sales of food/drink products. Ability to work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.

Education and Experience

Required: Must be at least 21 years of age. Able to stand and walk for long periods. Able to lift up to 25 lbs. Basic communication and math skills. Available to work weekends and holidays. Preferred: Previous restaurant or customer service experience. Point of Sale (POS) familiarity. Progression Path Server> Lead Server or Trainer> Bartender> Supervisor> Manager

License/Certifications/Registrations

Must successfully complete the New Mexico Food Handlers course upon hire. Must have New Mexico Alcohol Server's Certification prior to first day of work. Must be able to successfully pass a stringent background investigation. Will require a pre-employment and random drug screening.

Physical Requirement - Description

Balancing - Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling and walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces. This factor is important if the amount of balancing exceeds that needed for ordinary locomotion and maintenance of body equilibrium.

Climbing - Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized. This factor is important if the amount and kind of climbing required exceeds that required for ordinary locomotion.

Feeling - Perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature, or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.

Grasping - Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.

List Working Conditions Required: - Work is performed indoors and outdoors. Outdoor work is subject to extreme temperatures and inclement weather conditions. Work hours are subject to change with overtime work required. Must be able to have a flexible work schedule to be able to work weekends and holidays if needed. Subject to hazards, which may cause personal bodily harm, smoke, common colds, influenza, dust, odors and elevated noise levels. Tasks may be performed on uneven, inclined, hard and soft-carpeted floors, outdoor surfaces, cement structures and surfaces. Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds. Duties may involve walking, standing for long periods of time, sitting and crouching.
