Assistant General Counsel (Full-time, On-site)

Job Description Summary

Assistant General Counsel reporting to the Vice President and Associate General Counsel. The role provides legal advice and services on a broad spectrum of legal issues for OhioHealth, including corporate functions, transactions, business units, and clinical care sites. Responsibilities include business transactions, regulatory oversight, joint ventures, purchased service/goods contracts, compliance matters, physician and provider contracting, patient care issues, bioethical issues, medical staff matters, licensing requirements, and other legal matters supporting organizational business goals.

Responsibilities And Duties

Serve as Assistant General Counsel, maintaining strong client relationships and interacting with all levels of leadership from front line staff to executive leadership to provide complex, practical legal guidance that informs and drives organizational business goals.

Minimum Qualifications

Doctorate: Law (Juris Doctorate Degree) from an accredited law school. Current license to practice law in the State of Ohio and membership in good standing of the Ohio bar (or will become licensed within 12 months of employment). Minimum of 4 years of experience in a law firm, governmental agency, or in‑house legal department with significant experience in corporate, transactional, and healthcare regulatory law. Strong executive presence and interpersonal skills required.

Specialized Knowledge

Experience and knowledge in corporate, transactional, and healthcare regulatory law, including joint ventures, acquisitions, and compliance matters.
