Referrals Specialist (Full Time) Department: Family Practice/ Internal Medicine Location: 330 Benfield Drive, Savannah, GA SOUTHCOAST HEALTH IS LOOKING FOR AN EXPERIENCED FULL-TIME REFERRALS SPECIALIST Provide support for providers that include care coordination for assigned patients, including information and referrals. Act as a liaison between SouthCoast and other health care providers in the community. Qualifications : Ability to exercise professionalism in dealing with all levels of personnel, patients and patients' families. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely. Ability to work cooperatively as member of the medical office's team. Ability to respond to stressful/emergency situations in a calm and effective manner. Knowledge of Medical Terminology. Knowledge of clinic policies and procedures related to referrals. Responsibilities: Works in conjunction with the department to ensure daily and monthly tasks are completed timely and efficiently. Obtain referral orders/information from clinical staff or providers. Schedule referral appointments within 2-3 business days for appointments and document necessary notes. Run tracking reports weekly/monthly to ensure that Quality Assurance goals are met. Maintain communication with clinical staff for no shows/refusal appointments. Performs or assists with other special projects as assigned by Supervisor. Complies with all HIPAA regulations. Education/ Experience : High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of one year experience in medical office. Computer experience.
