Orientation and Mobility Specialist in Savannah, GA

Key Qualifications:

• Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS) through AVCREP
• Current GaPSC Teaching Certificate required
• Experience working with blind or visually impaired students, ideally across a range of grade levels
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with school teams, students, and families
• A commitment to student-centered approaches and best practices within O&M

• Provide direct orientation and mobility instruction to students with visual impairments, from elementary through high school
• Independently organize and travel to various school sites as needed
• Complete O&M assessments, develop individualized instructional plans, and contribute to the IEP process for each student
• Collaborate with special education staff, teachers, and families to support student growth and independence
• Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports in compliance with school and state requirements
